    Shared-Work is a great tool that allows an employer to temporarily reduce the work hours of a group of employees while supplementing their lost wages with partial UC benefits.  The goal is to avoid employee layoffs.  The program empowers employers to retain a trained and qualified workforce during periods of slowdown.  The employer can then quickly ramp up operations without the expense of recruiting, hiring and retraining new employees.
